Questions
SEO, PPC and AI search in Stuttgart and across Germany, answered
What businesses in Stuttgart and across Germany ask before commissioning search work.
Do you offer SEO and PPC management in Stuttgart and across Germany?
Yes. I provide freelance SEO and PPC management for businesses in Stuttgart and across Germany, working remotely from the UK. That covers technical SEO, content and FAQs, structured data, Google Ads and paid social, with tracking in GA4. Clients in the region include MoveIn24 and FamilyActivities.de.
Why choose an English-speaking SEO and PPC consultant over a German digital agency?
Being local is not the same as being experienced. Germany has many excellent agencies, but with an agency your account is often run by a junior executive behind an account manager. With me you work directly with a specialist who has 20 years of experience through every major change in Google, SEO and PPC, with no handovers and transparent hourly pricing. For businesses reaching UK or other English-speaking customers, I also bring first-hand knowledge of how those audiences search and buy, and I can work alongside an existing German agency or your in-house marketing team rather than replace them.
Do you work in English or German?
I work in English. That suits businesses targeting expats, international students and other English-speaking audiences, and German teams who want their English-language search handled properly. My German is limited, and it has not been a barrier with my Stuttgart clients. In many German organisations English is the main working language anyway, as I have seen first-hand visiting companies such as Puma near Nuremberg and Zalando in Berlin. For Google Ads, I have run many German-language campaigns over the years, so campaigns can be built in German, English or both.
Do you work with businesses elsewhere in Germany, such as Munich, Berlin or Frankfurt?
Yes. My recent German clients are in and around Stuttgart, but the work is remote, so where you are in Germany makes no difference. The same approach applies in Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg or anywhere else: understand who is searching, where from and in which language, then build SEO, PPC and AI visibility around it.
Can you help a German business reach customers in the UK?
Yes, and it is often where I add most. I understand how British consumers and procurement teams search, where German and British search terms differ, and which competitors dominate Google’s UK results, so UK-facing SEO and Google Ads are planned for that market rather than simply translated.
Can you run Google Ads in German as well as English?
Yes. I have run many German-language Google Ads campaigns over the years. Campaigns can be built in German, English or both, with separate targeting by language and location so budget follows the audiences that actually convert.
Can you target people outside Germany who plan to move to Stuttgart?
Yes. For MoveIn24 I pulled together data on where people relocating to Germany for work or study come from, and used it to geo-target campaigns at the key countries and cities rather than spreading budget thinly across the world.
How does AI search change SEO for a business in Germany?
People increasingly ask full questions, such as “what can families do in Stuttgart this weekend?”, and AI assistants answer with a summary that cites a handful of sources. Clear, specific answers on your site, extensive FAQs and structured data make it more likely your business is one of them.
What are query-based FAQs?
FAQs written around the real questions people type or speak into search engines and AI assistants, answered directly in the first sentence and backed up with detail. They help with featured snippets, Google AI Overviews and assistants such as ChatGPT, and they answer customers before they need to get in touch.
Can you track app downloads as well as website conversions?
Yes. On the MoveIn24 project I set up GA4 and conversion tracking alongside app tracking, so app downloads and in-app engagement could be measured together with the website. Budget can then follow whatever actually produces customers.
How do you handle tracking and consent under GDPR?
Tracking in Germany has to respect GDPR and each visitor’s cookie choices. I set up GA4 and Google Ads conversion tracking to work with your consent banner, using Google Consent Mode, so measurement stays as complete as possible without collecting data people have not agreed to.
How long does SEO take to show results in Germany?
Usually three to six months for a clear trend, depending on competition and how much groundwork the site needs. Paid search can deliver from the first week, which is why the two often run together while SEO builds.
Do you work with Stuttgart businesses remotely?
Yes, remote is the default. I work from Rugby with clients across the UK, Europe and the USA, with regular video calls and shared reporting, so being in another country rarely makes a difference.
How much does freelance SEO or PPC management cost?
I charge £80 per hour, billed monthly, with no long contract required. Ad spend is paid directly to Google or the relevant platform and is separate from management time.
How do SEO, PPC and AI search work together?
Paid search captures demand that already exists and can start delivering within days. SEO and AI visibility build the answers people find while they research, compare and ask questions, and that compounds over months. Run together, paid data shows which searches turn into customers so content can target them, and strong organic visibility can reduce how much you need to pay for clicks.
